About the event

Build and code your Robotic race car from scratch!  In this hands-on STEM project, you will assemble a vehicle, wire its motors, and program a powerful microcontroller chip that serves as its brain.  Learn to create a simple web-based application to control your car wirelessly from any phone, tablet, or computer. This is an introduction to the core principles of robotics. No experience necessary! Use our iPads or bring your own.

Learn what a microcontroller is and how it acts as the robot's brain when it has code.

  • Understand how DC motors work to make your car move backward, forward and changes speed.

  • Code your microcontroller to control the motor's speed and direction.

  • Use wires to connect the motors to batteries, and the microcontroller and build a functional circuit.

  • Most of all, have fun bringing your own creation to life.
